review: microsoft wireless display adapter

There are now countless devices that can send video and audio content from a mobile device to a monitor.
With the boom in the use of on-demand content, such as RT É Player and Netflix, more and more people are using them.
The wireless display adapter is Microsoft\'s contribution to the market.
USB stick-sized devices use Miracast technology to wirelessly connect certain devices to TVs, projectors, and monitors.
You first plug the device into the HDMI port of the screen you want to connect.
Because it requires a power supply, you have to connect the USB plug to the port on the screen or another USB power supply.
After that, you switch the TV/monitor/projector to the correct HDMI channel and the message Ready To Connect will say hello to you.
You can then use devices that support Miracast, including Microsoft\'s Surface Pro PC/tablet hybrid and some other phones, laptops and tablets running Windows 8.
1, and some Android devices running 4. 2. 1 and later.
Next, connect the device to the Monitor.
For Microsoft devices, all you need to do is go to the device> project> add wireless display, and with Android-based hardware, you can navigate to settings> Display> Cast \".
If everything goes as planned, you should now see the screen of your device mirrored on the monitor of the TV, monitor or projector it is now connected.
It took me a bit of time to get it to work, although it was easy to reconnect after the first boot and run.
The delay between the two devices was limited, and Microsoft promised a 23 feet range, although it could be affected by walls and furniture.
But overall, the product runs well.
The downside is that it doesn\'t work with Apple\'s iOS or any other product that doesn\'t have Emirates.
Of course, there are other products that do similar things at similar or cheaper prices-like Roku\'s Streaming Stick, and of course Google\'s Chromecast.
However, one of the great advantages of the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter is that it sets up a device to device its own wifi network and therefore does not require an existing wireless network to operate.
Perhaps a handy accessory for a laptop bag or briefcase for users of Microsoft devices.
