Digital cameras are very popular with many people having one. One of the great benefits of the digital camera is the ability to store the pictures you take on your camera. This is a great improvement on the old roller film camera where you would need lots of space to store all those photos. With digital that is not a problem as you can store them electronically. You can either select the photos you just want to print or just view them from your computer screen.
If you have a digital camera then you will need to know how to upload photos to your computer. Although this is a simple and straight forward procedure it will benefit you in knowing what is involved in making it happen. Here are the most common ways of doing it:
Method One
First of all you will need to connect your camera to your computer to enable the upload. To make the connection possible you will need a USB cable and a USB port on your computer. The USB cable generally comes with the digital camera otherwise you can purchase them from any camera or computer shop. Connect one end of the cable into the camera and other end into the computers USB port. When you turn your camera on a dialog box will appear on your screen advising you that the uploading of your photos has begun.
Method Two
When you purchase a digital camera it usually comes with uploading photo software to make the process as easy as possible. Simply install the software on to your computer and then follow the uploading wizard to help you with the process. Alternatively, if there is no software with the camera you can connect it to your computer and find the camera devise by accessing it using Windows Explorer. Then it is a simple paste and cut of your photo files into a pre-arranged folder.
Method Three
With some cameras you do not have to use USB cables as they come with memory cards or flash drives. If you have a photo printer then many models will have a slot built into the printer where you just insert the memory card. This method is very easy and convenient as you can print directly from the printer without having to waste time uploading photos to your hard disk.
If you have a lot of pictures it is prudent to store them in more than one data storage device. Making backup copies will provide you with the peace of mind if another storage source becomes corrupted or lost.
